Blackjack Strategies

Blackjack strategies involve making decisions as whether to stand or hit; to split or not split; double down or not.

Three decision tables are presented here. The first two decision tables are used for your first two cards. The first table is about whether to split or not, thus it is used only if you have a pair; if your first two cards are not of identical value, then skip to the second table. The second table is whether to double down or not. Note that splitting and doubling are mandatory, you may choose to do neither and just stand or hit as the case may be.

If your first two cards are not pair or do not qualify to double down, or, even if they qualify, but you chose to go with neither, then you can make "stand" or "Hit" decisions using the third table. Also, once you start hitting, subsequent decisions can be made using the third table.

Note that "A" stands for Ace and 10 stands for 10 and face cards.

To Split or Not to Split

Use this table only if you have two first cards of identical value.

To Double Down or Not to Double Down

Use this table only if you have two first cards that total to the listed values, and one of them is not an Ace.

When to Hit and When to Stand

Use the following guide if your options are either to stand or to hit. This may be with your first two card, or if you already have started hitting, or if you have split and are playing with your two sets.
