Lottery Wheel with Fixed Numbers for n/N Games
One form of a lottery wheel is to fix some of the selected numbers and play all the possible combinations of the others with the
fixed numbers. This system guarantees a jackpot if all the conditions are satisfied. This utility generates all the combinations
of a selected set of n/N game numbers into groups of n, with the option of fixing some selections.
Fixed numbers are those numbers that the user wants to appear in all generated plays.
This tool is divided into two parts - Preview and Generation, which function independently.
The Preview part is intended for analising the scenarios and expected outcomes of the combinations of a set of numbers before
they are generated. The generation part lists the plays based on the user's selections.
To launch the generator, set up the type of game by specifying the values of n and N in the box provided at the bottom of
this page. For instance, for a 6/49 game, enter n = 6 and N = 49, and press the 'Start' button. The generator will open in a new browser window
Once the utility is launced, first select a set of numbers, and you may optionally fix some of them, and then chose either to
view the scenarios or to generate the required combinations. If no numbers are fixed, the generated plays will be all the possible
combinations of the selected numbers, which will be exactly the same as our other utility - Combinations Generator (for n/N games).
If some numbers are fixed, then the plays will be generated by combining the fixed numbers with all the possible combinations
of the rest of the selected numbers.
The purpose of fixing some numbers is to reduce the number of plays generated. This results in lower cost, but
at the expense of reduces chance of winning. For instance, the combinations of 9 numbers in a 6/49 game will result
in 84 plays; but if 3 of the numbers are fixed, the number of plays becomes 20. This utility allows you to fix upto
upto n - 1 numbers.
A jackpot is guaranteed if the fixed numbers are all winning numbers, plus if all the other winning numbers are
among the selected numbers. All other scenarios, such as what happens if you get 2 of the fixed and 3 of the other selected, can
be viewed by manipulating the 'what if..' situations in the 'Preview' section as demonstrated below.
The following explanations are best understood if you open the wheeling utility window by entering n=6 and N=49 at the bottom of this page and execute the examples yourself.
Let us suppose that we want to play all numbers that are divisible by 5 of a 6/49 game, that is, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 (a total of 9).
To preview the scenarios, select 9 from the drop-down numbers on the Preview panel and press "Show Scenario".
The total number of plays to be generated will be shown as 84 in the Scenario panel. Now, we can manipulate some
'what if' situations to see how the 84 tickets would fare. For example, if 5 of these numbers are winners,
then select 0 as fixed, 5 as other selections, and then press the 'Show Results' button. You will see that 4 of our plays(tickets) will
match 5-of-6, 30 will match 4-of-6 , and so on. If all of the winning numbers are divisible by 5, then it
will be celebration time.
Now let us see the effect fixing 3 of our numbers. Go back to the Preview panel and select 9 as the numbers to play and 3 as the
numbers to fix, and then press the button. In this case there will be only 20 plays
to be generated all of which, as you'll see later, will contain the 3 fixed numbers. Here, the scenarios will
involve how many of the fixed numbers and how many of the other selected numbers are winners.
For example, if 2 of the fixed numbers and 3 of the other selected numbers are winners, then 1 of the 20 tickets will match
5-of-6, 9 will match 4-of-6, and so forth.
The generation part shouldn't pose any problem except how to select and fix the desired numbers. To select a number,
just click on it. To fix a number, click on an already selected number. To unselect a number, click on an already
fixed number. Thus, a cycle of clicks on a number will select, fix, and unselect it, respectively.
After selecting the numbers, you can preview the scenarios by pressing the "Scenarios" button.
To list the resulting combinations, click on the 'Generate' button.
At this point, you can select the 9 numbers of our example and see the outcome. Also, you may fix 3 numbers, say,
5, 15, and 30, and click "Generate". Observe that all the generated combinations will contain 5, 15 and 30.
The generator can be used for any multi-number lottery game, with one set of numbers, as long as the total numbers to select
from (N) do not exceed 100, and n is 12 or less. This, we hope, will cover any such type of lottery game in the world.
To initiaze the generator, please
specify the type lottery game by entering the values of n and N below. For example, for a 6/49 game,
n=6 and N=49
